I am spending Christmas with my Mormon partner. Since I came out my parents, they no longer talk to me, but by partner's Mormon parents have become friendly towards me and they include my name in their Christmas cards and gifts. It's heart-warming to see families put love over religious zeal.
My partner and I are heading to Utah tomorrow to spend Christmas with my family (immediate as well as a large extended family). While most of my family have been supportive, they are still uncomfortable with it, and I haven't seen any of my extended family since they have known - should make for an interesting trip!
I was unable to spend the holiday with my family due to work commitments but I was lucky to be spending it with my boyfriend's family. I am very fortunate to have both accepting Mormon parents as well as a boyfriend with an accepting family.
